Ugh, what a disaster. I had one dinner in Baton Rouge, so I played it safe and went to a place recommended by both Yelp and the people I had been working with during the day. The menu was pretty ho-hum, nothing exciting but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd had a pretty heavy lunch so I ordered from the "light" menu, which was my first mistake. I got the rainbow trout which was also listed under the seafood section of the menu, so it should have been good. I waited about 35-40 minutes for my dish. One dish. 35 minutes, maybe 40. The waitress apologized twice, the manager (or at least some dude with a headset on) came out and apologized. I don't know what they were doing in the kitchen because the restaurant was pretty empty and there were plenty of cooks back there. Anyway, so my food came out and it was pretty bad. The fish was fine, not fishy, not overcooked, but it was way, way too salty. It was sitting atop some pasta and vegetables in an "oriental broth." Seeing this phrase on the menu should, in retrospect, have been my second red flag. It tasted kind of like the broth you get from those little packets of Top Ramen seasoning. And for something off the light menu, that broth was seriously oily. The vegetables were nice, though, I guess. I will admit that I probably did not pick the right thing off the menu, hence the 2 stars instead of 1. However, nothing should be on that menu that isn't good (especially if you're going to list the same dish twice, in different sections!), and no dish should take that long to make it out of the kitchen.

I loved when I went, I had an out of state guest come with me and we went for the first time. The martini got me incredibly drunk and the food was great! My friend is transgender and the staff didn't react at all which meant a lot to her. I loved the atmosphere, we sat in a booth, the food was great and so was dessert.. I got snickers cheesecake.

Last time I was in town, I grabbed some Copelands to go. I ordered the Pasta Jambalaya, cup of chicken gumbo and the white chocolate bread pudding. Karen J is right on the mark about the menu being the size of a toddler LMAO but once I narrowed it down, I made all the right choices. I brought it back to my hotel and enjoyed and savored every bite. I was really SUPER impressed at how they packaged up the food to go and presented in a way that still had a personal touch. It's torturous to have to sit there and wait and look at a million and one types of cheesecake but I cant blame them for that...marketing at it;s BEST. I look forward to going back one day.

The food was excellent, and our service was superb. I had the shrimp, chicken and sausage penne. It was very tasty. My family dined on the crawfish ravioli and the crabmeat ravioli. They loved it! The mango lemonade was very good, and I only wish you could get more than two refills. Dessert was the bomb!

Go for the desserts and the crawfish dip appetizer is very good. That being said, service is soSo and can be slow. The ham panini had about as much ham as a sandwich from Subway...won't be doing that again. Chicken Caesar wrap was good enough but not as good as ChickFila. Wish I'd ordered the salad.

We went to Copeland's, Baton Rouge, yesterday, May 31, 2014. We only go there once or twice a year because of the expense. We sat at a window booth and immediately noticed the window sill was filthy with salt and crumbs. We ordered the crab and crawfish cheesy bake at $10.95 for the appetizer as it was something we have not had before. The pic showed it coming with 6 substantial, golden-toasted pieces of bread. It was very salty and had maybe 6 crawfish tails in it, but it was tasty. The bread was paper thin and very small, not much bigger than Melba toast, only 2 pieces had any hint of being toasted but all were dry on one side and soft on the other. we ran out of bread before dip so asked for more bread. The second batch was the same size, but slightly toasted. When we got the bill found out we were charged $1.50 for it. My husband ordered the seafood platter, $23.95, which should be an excellent choice for this restaurant. Not so much. The catfish was hot, but nothing else. The shrimp was tiny, almost popcorn-size and was lukewarm at best, as were the fries. The oysters and onion strings were cold. I splurged and got the Hawaiian BBQ Rib eye, which costs $31.95. It is the most expensive thing on the menu. It has always been excellent. It was cooked correctly but it was not as tender as it should be for something this expensive and it was loaded with fat, probably 1/4 of it was fat. I asked for sweet potato fries instead of the garlic mashed potatoes (because they make them with the skin on). I got both the potatoes, and no broccoli. Ordered one piece of cheesecake to go, the red velvet. The cheesecake is at least 25% smaller than it used to be and at least 50% more expensive. It is good, though. The ticket was $92.90 before the tip. This is the most we have ever spent on a meal and most certainly do not feel like we got our money's worth.

Decent food, decent staff and environment. We had the following: - Buffalo Wings: which is always good and humongous, we always get this when we go to Copelands or Cheescake - Tex Mex Eggrolls: decent, could of been better, but not too bad - Hot Spinach and Cheese Dip: how can you go wrong with this dish? served with fried artichokes, yum - Chicken & Waffles: the balance of honey and chicken on a waffle, divine, you won't regret it - Chicken Mac & Cheese: this is actually pretty bland for me.. its like chunks of chicken breast sitting inside a pool of mac and cheese with no seasoning.. - Crawfish Mac & Cheese: a little better than the chicken mac & cheese, but not overall impress - Buttermilk Chicken: extra tender and flavorful chicken, one of many good finger lickin chicken I've eaten - Crawfish Ravioli: not bad, not not great either, I definitely can live without - Jambalya Pizza: jambalya on a pizza? yeah they should of left this sucker off the menu, maybe good concept, but bad execution.. please stay away - Ribeye Steak: decent steak, but want a good steak? go to a steak house. - Stuffed Red Snapper: wanted to eat a decent fish, and I did not get that here, it was so bland and boring - Banana Froster Cheesecake: if banana froster is good by itself, and cheesecake is good by itself, please don't put them together, not a big fan of this cheescake.. - Snickers Cheesecake: good cheesecake, how can you go wrong with snickers? overall, this is a decent place to hang out with family and friends if you want a decent bite, just don't be expected to be blown out the water

"What is Cheescake Factory but not?" Would be the answer in the form of a question on Jeopardy. This place was terrible. Bland food and slow service. We had a vegetarian in our party who specifically asked if the salad had bacon. He was told no and sure enough a few bites into his salad. Bam! Bacon bits. I'm all about that but for another person who has strong standards about that? Not cool. I do not recommend this place.

I'm a person who believes in second chances and Cheesecake Bistro Baton Rouge definitely made me understand why I've always believed in this standard. I wrote a week earlier last week because of the experience that I had at this restaurant. My mind was set that I would never patronize this particular location again. However, the manager Jay contacted me and was very genuine and apologetic towards the experience that my friends and I had had. He ensured me that the issue had been rectified and allowed us to come in for complimentary treats because of our initial experience. The service was phenomenal and our waitress Bre made us feel as if we were appreciated. WE really enjoyed ourselves and I wanted to brag on how exceptionally well their general management team and customer care staff quickly handles situations.

If u want good cheesecake this is it..and the shoestring onion rings are great!! but as for the meals i give 2 thumbs down..not even good!! been twice and unless im ordering a cheesecake to go, i wont eat there..i give a restaurant 2 tries and i never go back if theres no improvement!!

I was here for a work meeting and was actually pleasantly surprised by the food which was fresh and not cafeteria-like at all (I'm looking at you Copeland's in Harahan). I had a very tasty salad where I could opt for fresh crabmeat and grilled shrimp...and as a side note, really FRIED crabmeat? Why would you destroy something as delicate and fresh as crabmeat by frying it. But I digress. My companions had a crawfish cake appetizer and a soup/salad combo. And both were really happy with their meals. Our server was attentive but not hover-y. So really a solid 3 1/2 stars...rounding up to 4 since I really expected the worst.

I enjoy coming to the Cheesecake Bistro. It has a warm inviting atmosphere and the tables are roomy and spacious. I always feel like my area is my area and the other people dining in the restaurant blend into the background. Good music and excellent food. The Crawfish Ravioli is great for dinner but my favourite is the Crescent City Wrap for lunch. I always get the Bananas Foster Cheesecake, so I can't tell you how the other flavours are because this one is too good to pass up! My boyfriend lives in Scotland and this is the first place we stop at on the way home from the airport. :)

Had the Thai Shrimp wrap from Copeland's today for lunch. This is my go-to meal from them as it is always...it also comes in Chicken. It's basically grilled shrimp, brocolli slaw salad, crispy asian noodles, a spicy peanut sauce, and a spicy mayo dressing in a wrap. It is spicy but well balanced and the earthy savory peanuts in the sauce compliment it well as it does in most Thai dishes. There is not a lot I eat off the menu, except of course for the Cheesecake, but the Thai Shrimp or Chicken wrap is certainly worth ordering.

Servers and staff were spot on. Confused on some of these poorer reviews. As such I give it 5 stars for an eye popping kids plate of fruit which my 3yr old devoured. Fantastic crawfish eggrolls. Thai chicken wrap and turkey club sandwich for us. Food was hot, fresh and well plated. Cheesecake speaks for itself.

I wish I had 4 hands to give this place 4 thumbs down. Salty Salty Salty. Food came out cold. The bartender was having a bad day and was snapping at any server who came with a question or request...smiled at us...but I still had to see him yelling at his co workers (very unprofessional). He eventually explained why he was in such a bad mood...I DON'T CARE. I'm here with my wife and I'm not a psychologist. Management obviously has no control over their employees and doesn't seem to care about the quality of service very much. Last time we came we had the entire meal comped because the experience/service/food was so bad. Thought we'd give them another chance...never again.

Solid 3.5 stars Our server Samanatha (5-stars) was cool and gave us some background on some of the local microbrews (basically Abita--I guess they make some brews which are hella strong). I actually didn't go with a beer and thought I'd go with a Hurricane (and was clowned a little for going the girlie route). The meal I had was alright, although I can't remember what I had. What I do remember is the dessert. We obviously went with some cheesecake, and this joint should get some props for this.

  • Fortenise M.

It was good. Not spectacular. The crawfish ravioli is a MUST! Do not get the BBQ shrimp linguini dish, because it is just ok and not worth the 17.99.

I have to say I was disappointed in more ways than I thought were possible at this establishment. I was told this restaurant was similar to the Cheesecake Factory. As soon as we entered I knew it was not. However, I still gave it the benefit of the doubt. We were seated rather promptly for our late lunch on Saturday. Our server took our order of an iced tea, water, an El Paso Salad and bread (for an extra charge). We got our bread within 5-6 minutes and devoured it within minutes. It was not served with butter or olive oil and balsamic, but it did have some garlic stuff on it, it was good. Then we waited over a half hour for our single salad. While looking panicked for our server he finally came around and apologized for the long wait. In the mean time the manager came up to us and offered us a complimentary dessert to compensate for the long wait. It temporarily made up for the terrible service. Our server came back with our salad shortly after. I was famished by that point. I looked at the salad and was dismayed by the "chicken" on it. I admit that I failed to carefully read the description of the chicken after seeing "rotisserie chicken" but on the next line was written "breaded and fried". It was horrific. It was all breading and batter. The "chicken" inside was practically jerky it was so dehydrated. Many pieces were JUST breading and batter. I was shocked at the low quality of the salad. How could they serve that? I was almost in tears with disappointment and frustration. The banana split we shared filled me up enough to leave without fainting. I decided to use the restroom before leaving and was struck with a smell that made me walk right out. Never again.

  • Karen J.

So I never really understood why this place has such huge menus. Seriously, they are like the size of a small toddler. I mean, is the owner trying to compensate for something with the large menu? Anyways, on to the food. Because the menu is SO BIG you can pretty much get anything you want here and very rarely is it bad. There are so many choices I couldn't begin to describe but they have the typical sandwiches, entrees, appetizers, etc. Beware of the spices if you don't like spicy food as they will sneak up on you in certain dishes. I have always been pleased going here for brunch. The sad part is I eat so much I never really get to experience the food used in there name! The cheesecake! The few times I have managed to fit it in I have gotten that wonderfully content look on my face. Or made very loud noises of satisfaction that causes other diners to stare.

  • Gordon B.

This spot is getting a non traditional four. The dinner was attended by five. Four of the five attendees had a great experience. My daughters meal never came out. The establishment saved themselves by providing free cheesecake to everyone at the table. We also received a personal apology from the manager and server. Overall the prices were really reasonable when compared to similar establishments in Cleveland. The food quality was okay. We all started off with spinach and artichoke dip, which was fantastic. I had the paneed chicken over crawfish linguini. The sauce was lacking flavor, but the chicken was pretty tasty to make up for it. The portion size was decent, but not great according to Louisiana standards. Overall the food was a 3 or 3.5, but the damage control bumped them up to a 4.

I was recommended to try Copelands while i was shopping in Baton Rouge. They were pretty busy for five o'clock which is usually a pretty good sign. Very friendly from the moment we walked in the door. They did the usual have you been here before bit. Explained the way things work. Even though I'm not fond of directions of my dining experience ... I usually will play along. Basically there are big portions. We didn't get apps... for we... have to have cheesecake for dessert. I got Steak Lambrouchere. Medallions tender juicy steak with pasta tossed in a very flavorful lambrouchere sauce. It was extremely good! My other half got the Blacken chicken. Was told it was very good... but he didn't get to eat his side of a "wedge" of mac and cheese. Someone came along and swiped it *me* ... opps?! Which looking at the menu now, they no longer carry! For shame Copelands! That was the best part of the meal. Well maybe the Lambrouchere sauce was the best part but this was very close! I do believe that the cheesecake actually comes from the cheesecake factory, but I could be wrong. For the record the cheesecake was better here than the actual cheesecake factory. I got the fresh strawberry cheesecake. There was lots of large fresh strawberries. This was soooo good! Hubs got Brownie Al a mode. I was told this was also very good! Copelands might of got five stars but, since they removed the mac n cheese wedge and its a chain. Four is the best I can do for it.

Giving this once great joint 3 stars is almost a stretch. We went for lunch and the food and service were just OK. I was so disappointed, this used to be a favorite place of mine. Too many amazing places in Baton Rouge to waste your time here.

I went with family on a Saturday night, and didn't have to wait very long. However, the first table we were taken to was already occupied. We followed the server back to the front, and were taken to a second table, which hadn't been bussed. We were asked to go back to the front again and wait, and after 5 minutes were taken back to a table that was just finishing being bussed. The menu seems pricey for what you get. I ordered the fried ravioli with crawfish in spicy cream sauce, and my dining companions ordered sandwiches and burgers. Their food all came out at different times, and my food never arrived. After waiting 10 minutes, the waitress finally came over to see how we were doing, and was surprised to see me sitting there with no food in front of me. After several more minutes, the manager came over and said the kitchen had burned my crawfish and they had to remake the whole dish. My companions were nearly done with their food by the time mine arrived. I must say my dish was very good, although I was never offered a discount or free dessert for the long time I had to wait for my food. I had Snickers cheesecake for dessert, which was pretty good. My companions said the cookies n' creme cheesecake was very good. Since the restaurant wasn't nearly full, we sat talking for about an hour and never saw the waitress again to refill our water glasses. This restaurant gets two stars only for the decent food, but one star for the terrible service and ridiculous prices. I won't be returning next time I'm in Baton Rouge.

This place is awesome!! I always start with a really good martini, some hot wings, and crawfish ravioli. It is so worth it and of course you have to get the cheesecake as well. Talk about great, I mean that is what they are known for. They also have some seasonal biscuits they will bring around (complimentary). It's like corn and cheese biscuits I believe but they are way better than they sound!! They also have really good fish. This place is a must go!! Especially if you are from out of town. You will not be disappointed. It's dim lighting gives it a very romantic vibe. Perfect for hot dates of family time, they have very well lit areas as well.

My Girlfriend and I where staying across the street at the Hyatt for the night and were searching for a place in walking distance. We had just driven in from Jazz Fest and had never been to Baton Rouge before. After reading several mixed reviews on Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro we decided to give it a shot. The place seemed busy but we were seated right away in a booth. Our server Richard was super good. We tried to order a burger but Richard recommended we try the Pot Roast Dip Po-boy and I'm glad he did. The Po-boy was really good! We also tried the Goat Cheese Apple Walnut flat bread. The crust was super flaky and crumbled in your mouth. I would definitely order both again. I'm not sure why this place gets bad reviews so much, but our experience was great. Food was good and Richard gave us great service.

Copelands always had excellent cheesecake, but recently I took an out-of-state guest there for dinner one evening after dark and was terribly disappointed. The area around the door did not seem to be a safe area. Once inside, the restaurant did not seem clean and was rather "rowdy." After quite a long wait for our waiter, we were informed they were out of the items we wanted to order from the menu. I attempted to inform the manager of our issues, but she was not interested. Sorry, good cheesecake...but won't be back.

We came here for my aunts birthday. She had the seafood stir fry, I had the cheeseburger. My food was delicious, her's was salty and bad. The environment was none to pleasing either. Our waiter was nice, that's about it. I don't recommend this place. Go to Perkins Rowe instead.

I've been to the one in New Orleans before but this was my first time at the BR location. I ordered the blackened BBQ shrimp pizza bowl. It was pretty good, but the portion size was a lot smaller than I remember. The last time I ordered it I couldn't see the bowl under the pizza because it was so much. This time it looked like a happy hour portion! Cut the price if your gonna cut the size. Our server was ok, the service wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. Oh and by the way the hostess forgot about us (we made reservations online) so it took us a while to be seated. Overall, the experience was average. I would go back though.

I love this place. I grew up with Copeland's of New Orleans, and was SO HAPPY when Cheesecake Bistro came about. A great place to experience New Orleans/Cajun cuisine in an upscale environment. Every time I go, there is something new and improved on the menu, without compromising the classics!!!!

Every time we go here we get a different cheesecake for desert. We haven't been disappointed yet. We usually get a seafood entree and a meat entree and share. The ribeye, although fatty as a good ribeye should be, was Deeeelicious. Although I was chastised about my cholesterol, I enjoyed every heart stopping moment of it! I made up for it by having salad and steamed veggies:) The stuffed drum was also a great dish and alternating between the two of us created a surf and turf. We were stuffed also when the cheesecake arrived, but somehow we managed to eat every creamy bite! The prices for the quality and service are expected. We are normally an $80-100 cover.

Visiting Baton Rouge on a business trip and it was recommended we visit Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. First let me say that we were seated fast and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the Crawfish Mac & Cheese and it was delicious and a great price. It was definitely more than I could eat. I decided to splurge and order dessert, white chocolate cheesecake, of course. The only downside to my visit was that I found a hair in my dessert. I told the server and she promptly brought me a new dessert. I was a little disappointed that they didn't even offer to compensate me at least some off of my bill. I'm never one that complains about my food but I couldn't not say anything. Overall I would recommend this restaurant but I do think they should work a little on customer service.

Great experience for lunch. Sat at the bar and service was nice, food was good and I have no complaints. This is how visitors should be treated. I had the Cajun crawfish macaroni and cheese and a house salad and it was tasty.

I am biased in favor of anything Copeland's... I just love the flavor of... well, all of the artery clogging goodness that they serve here. One of my favorite heart stoppers is the BBQ shrimp linguine pizza pasta bowl... got all that? It's jumbo Gulf shrimp pan sauteed with green onions, creole seasoning and butter garlic tossed over linguine all served atop an herb cheese pizza bowl. It is truly fantastic, but VERY rich and probably not for everyone. I think they have some other good things here, but I usually can't stray away from getting just this dish every time I go. I'll just mention that this place has been here for a while now, and the building is starting to look a little dated. Might be time soon for Copeland's to consider renovating and updating the decor. BOTTOM LINE: A Copeland's restaurant, so you know the food will be awesome.

We go here pretty often. The food is good and service has always been pretty good. It's not an expensive restaurant so I don't have unrealistic expectations. We've always had great experiences and I love the Copeland's restaurants.

My bf and I found this gem on accident! We thought we were going to the restaurant vs the bistro! We had the catfish platter, crawfish Mac and cheese and gumbo. It was really good and I love the uptempo atmosphere -- even on a Sunday afternoon. I had the pornstar martini ...(I know it's Sunday) but it have me a nice buzz. We will be back!

For my anniversary we went here for dessert and Martinis in which I have mixed fillings. I got a simple strawberry cheese cake, I was not blown away by any means seemed very average. I also got a sex on the beach, beware it's yummy but strong. My husband got a lemon drop it was awesome not to sour or sweet. Now for the decor, all I can say is OUTDATED they did just do what I thought was a remodel (must have been the outside). The inside has a very strange ceiling made of stars that are dusty and not cute. Booths or shell booths are huge and not very appealing.

God awful. Don't order brunch! It's a joke. It's so gross. Food took forever but it came out cold. Manager apologized and gave us free cheese cake even tho I didn't make a big stink about it which was cool. But the food was not bearable to eat. We ran out of there.

This review is based on one of their monthly themed dinners. It was October, so of course it was Halloween themed. I was so impressed to see all of the thought and effort they put into it. As you walked closer to the private room where the dinner was set up(mostly tables of 4-6) there were bar glasses with dry ice and colored water to give a 'spooky lab' effect. Spider webs and other themed decor could be found all around. The silverware was wrapped in red linen with a set of vampire teeth. Every course was accompanied by a cocktail. Each drink was garnished with either a spider or eyeball, etc. So much food is included- ending it all w/ their famous killed by chocolate cheesecake. All of the employees, even the ones that were not working the party were dressed in costumes. We all had an awesome time-it was a fantastic way to kick off Halloween week.

Out of all the times I have been here, I must say that the reverse happy hour is the best. You can never go wrong with an appletini or a simple glass of wine.

Didn't too much care for this place. I thought it would be almost like Cheesecake Factory but man I was very wrong!

We order 1 coffee, 1 mocha and 1 cheesecake for about $18!! For this price I was expected much better quality (coffee was water coffee, mocha not bad but cheesecake look like it spent one full day in a cold fridge with high ventilation...) but overall quality was not bad. We came late (maybe the cheesecake would be better the morning than 10:45pm) but the waitress was very nice and helpful even if they were about to closed,

Crawfish ravioli is good. Very good service and atmosphere. You definitely get what you pay for.

Stay away from the sucky fish tacos. Not only are they bland, they also fall apart as soon as you pick up the tortilla. I ate the rest of my fish taco with a fork. These guys really don't know how to make a fish taco. Chicken club was so-so. For dessert, I had the praline cheesecake, and it was average. As one would expect in the deep south, this item was overly sweet/rich for a good sugar high.

I hadn't been to this location before, but had been to other Copeland's and had some awesome food. Which is all I wanted, I had no expectations to have a lavish meal service or anything like that. I went to the cheesecake counter because I knew I could order carry-out there. The girl talking my order was still busy with the previous customer's order, and that wasn't an issue. I was in no rush since I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but had a clue from other Copeland's I'd gone to. When I looked at the menu, I was immediately disappointed. They had about half the offerings of other Copeland's, and what they did offer seemed slimmed down at best. I picked a salad with paneed chicken, some dulce cheesecake, and the crawfish and crab bake. The girl however was having issues with the register, and as someone who fights with computers all day long, I figured it was just a tech problem. I paid my bill (thought it was a little high, but Copeland's isn't cheap), and thought nothing of it. I didn't realize the huge mess till I got home...My whole order was jacked up. I had cheesecake, that was fine. But I had a whole other meal of crawfish linguine???She'd mentioned something about this, but I just figured it had something to do with their ordering system because she said that's how the kitchen knows to put chicken on. (I didn't question it, I've seen weirder things.) My salad, ofcourse, didn't have any chicken on it. Which was my whole reason for getting a large caesar salad. The crawfish and crab bake was right, but the croutons were soggy (no joke), and the crawfish/crab had artichoke in it. No clue who picked the combo, but an au gratin would've been a better move. I was hoping to find someplace that I could hit close to home with good food I could grab and leave with, but I'm so disappointed by this meal, that I intend to skip this location in the future.

The food was pretty good and they had a pretty good list of options. Our wait to be seated in a Saturday night was very short and the table service was prompt and polite. We loved the atmosphere! It was noisy but in a lively kind of way. The only bad thing was that the portions were so big we didn't have enough room for dessert (which all looked amazing) !

Food was fantastic and service was great! You can NOT beat the cheesecake.... Every flavor imaginable!! Only dislike was the salads.... Plain & dressings are nasty!

I stopped in for lunch on my way to New Orleans for a business meeting. I half to say the starter salad was the best I've ever had for a cost of $3.95. I also had the crawfish macaroni and cheese and it was delightful I topped it off with a cheesecake trio. OMG it was the best lunch I've had in a long time kudos to Chad the bartender who serve me lunch he was awesome and did a very good job of keeping my glass full

Overall, it is a pretty good place to be. I took myself to dinner tonight, and decided that I wanted something decadent for dessert. I told my bartender (who looked kind of like Chris Colfer) that I wanted something best described as "That's what's wrong with America" decadent. Well they delivered. I had a slice of the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake. First of all, they have a fantastic cheesecake to start with. Then they cover it in dulce de leche caramel sauce, then they sprinkle it with praline crumbles, then the just give you a praline to go with it. It was fantastic. I have to say that I did not mind spending $8 on this slice of cheesecake. You might also want to check out the happy hour, as they have pretty good rates and I got to see some of the apps that are half off during happy hour, and they looked good.

This may be the best of the Copeland's locations. I often find myself in Baton Rouge. Sometimes it's for work, other times it's for pleasure, but one thing is for sure. Baton Rouge is not the food city that Nola is, but they do have some good spots. This Copeland's happens to be one of them. Normally I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but Copeland's is a local chain. I always make an exception for local chains, but after my visit to the Covington location, I began to question myself. I have been to this location several times for lunch. Each time they have been highly efficient, provided great service and great food. The staff here know what they are doing. On my last trip I arrived during prime lunchtime hours. Most other restaurants in the area had a wait, but not this place. Their parking lot was full, but inside there was plenty of room. Whoever designed this place made sure to use every bit of space for seating without making it feel like you were sitting on top of one another. Our server was very good. She was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made sure our drinks were kept full and that our food was delivered immediately upon its preparation. This place was seriously like a well oiled machine. On each trip the food was fresh, and very good. The value at lunch is very surprising with a large amount of sandwiches and wraps for under $10. For the quality of food you receive, I do not know of another place with this kind of value. I never thought I would gush with such praise for a chain, but this location is really great.

I like the atomsphere here, wait staff was pretty good, food is ok. This is pretty much the Cheesecake Factory with 1/3 of the menu. We've gone twice and had: -the Crab and Crawfish Bake - delish! -Crawfish Ravioli - average, almost bordering bland -Pesto Grilled Shrimp with Angel Hair - pretty good, nothing outstanding -Chicken, Shrimp & Sausage Penne - again, pretty good, but nothing outstanding -Seabream with Herbed Lump Crabmeat - THIS DISH WAS DELICIOUS!! It's on the 600 calories and under portion of the menu and was outstanding, even if you're not eating it for health reasons. -Stuffed Fresh Fish - this was very good, very flavorful The cheesecakes here are ok, but maybe.....kind of gummy? They have a bizarre texture, nothing like a good homemade, creamy cheesecake should be. I guess being a cheesecake bistro I would've expected a little more from the cheesecake. Also had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. The white chocolate overwhelmed the bread pudding, wasn't spectacular. I'd go again, but would order the items I know to be good. I wouldn't want to take a risk with a new item.
